I’ve been trying to pick some of my favorite images from my Mexican festival that I like the best. It’s really hard to choose what one’s will be “the one” when you work with such amazing models. Every image just seems like it’s just as good as the other. Trimming is tough. I might not be done for quite some time. In a normal situation I may shoot once or twice a month, so I have ample time to digest each shoot. The festival I put on is like one or two shoots per day for 8 days. So that’s like 6 months crammed into a week. Is 20 OK? 30? 10? Are there rules? I have my own rules I place upon myself, but sometimes I wonder if I’m being hard enough on myself. I’m sure every photographer does. If you click on “full screen” you can see them bigger, but they may get pixelated due to the fact I never put large files on the web. Prints are ALWAYS so much prettier.

Zoe Fest X 2011 was held in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

Behind the scenes footage courtesy of Michael Marlborough. michaelmarlborough.com
It was 100 degrees on the Southern Tip of Baja at the end of the day on October 24, 2011.
Zoe Fest is a yearly fine art nude artist retreat held in different areas of the globe. 2009 and 2010 were held in Australia. From 2002-2008 we were in different areas of the United States. This was it’s 10th year, hence the “X.”
Models: Carlotta Champagne, Sara Liz, Anne Duffy, Tara Liggett, Claudine, St. Merrique, Anoush Anou, Ella Rose, Brooke Lynne, Samantha Grace, Stephanie Anne, Meghan Claire, Keira Grant, Rebecca Lawrence and Candace Nirvana.
You do funny things when you hold a camera sometimes to get certain angles. I know I’m weird.
First video by me.
Thanks to Michael Marlborough for filming the behind the scenes action!

I just had one of the most awesome adventures in Mexico at the artist retreat I put on once a year, Zoe Fest. It was the 10th annual get together of models and photographers from my websites, ARTnudes Network and Communityzoe.com. You can follow our group blog at http://www.figuremodels.org/festx and check out all the great work everyone created while we were all together.
I’ll write more about that subject soon. Just wanted to share a few images I created. I’m 1/2 way through all my processing, cataloging, scanning and editing. I can’t believe it! Definitely check out the group blog. It’s really awesome seeing what a group of photographers and models who are passionate about figure photography can do when they all get together. I love these people!
more soon…

I’ve spent a lot of time in the desert. It’s fun to walk around and see pictures, make pictures and be away from society. It’s quiet. Wind and critters are all you can hear. It’s always nice working with someone who likes to look for pictures too. Meghan’s like that. No jabbering on, just looking with me. It helped tremendously when she saw a Manzanita bush and commented on how cool it looked. I wouldn’t have paid it any attention. I did though because I’ve learned to listen to what I like to call “desert magic.” Subtle hints that lead you to something profound or magical. Her mention of the manzanita bush was that. There was a dragon there in the shadows.
These were the other images we made before and after. Enjoy.

Just a little break in the monotony… Had a lovely shoot a couple days ago and will post the Chocolate Polaroid images soon. I have fallen in love with Chocolate Polaroid and it fits on my Holga, which is even more edible! YUM. So, stay tuned. Until then enjoy my iPhone Nude from the location processed with Hipstamatic and a few other funky apps.

I’m going to the end of the earth and to a World Heritage Site to make photographs. I really am getting excited about this trip. I hope there won’t be too many big snakes! But I fear they will be hard to escape… crossing the date line… crossing the equator… and going underwater! I shall post travel snaps with my iPhone here every day, as long as I’m able to find an internet connection. If you are the first to guess where I am, I will send you a prize!
This is where I was today. But I haven’t left yet, so I say it’s Malibu!
